This blog collects some experiences from my daily work in the Data Science field of the WZB. The posts will focus around the following topics:
- Data extraction / data mining
- Data visualization
- Data analysis
Since Data Mining is actually the prerequisite for all the following, and since it often constitutes the biggest and most time consuming work (as slightly exaggerated here), the focus will probably be on the first of the above three things. Furthermore I’ll cover some general programming stuff (Python, R, JavaScript, etc.) and point out useful tools and frameworks. There will also be a weekly “link dump” with news and articles that I find worth reading. Most articles will be in English, but some articles and recommendations in the “link dump” might be in German language.
